Starting out

Here we go, yet another blog devoted to gaming!  As if there aren't enough of these floating around the Net these days, I thought... <--- with some difficulty but I did think... Why not one more!  Let me make my voice heard and let it be mostly about Blizzard's excellent game Diablo.  Not necessarily Diablo all the time but mostly.  So why is it called Engine of God?  You probably weren't going to ask that but if you did, I have an answer.  Roughly 20 years ago I bought a book "The Engines of God" by Jack McDevitt.  I liked the cover art (I'm not ashamed to admit) and I was intrigued by the title.  Well, I never read the book!  Actually I read the leaf jacket!  And that was enough to get my imagination in gear.  Quite honestly the premise seemed to be based too much on 2001 A Space Oddyssey for my taste so I created my own story sort of.  As it turned out when Diablo hit the realm of computer gaming and I was able to name my own character I chose to name him Engine of God, singular since he's an individual.  And henceforth and thereon ultimately with much fantastic stuff I now have this blog about Diablo gaming, mostly, which is named in honor of my original Diablo character Engine of God.  In my puny mind I like to think that the reason I named him Engine of God is because he is a force for good out in the hellish world of Diablo.  While he is in fact a Barbarian, I prefer to think of him as a Holy character with good morals but possessing the strength and ferocity of the most brutal warriors.
